INSPIRATION
Sometimes making the decision to create change in our lives can be a tough one… especially when we’ve tried before and not reached our goal. I understand this. I’ve done it myself… and I think that most people have. But I also know that not reaching a goal is not the same as failing.
Maybe you’ve been on diets before. Maybe you’ve lost some weight, only to gain most or all of it back. This, my friend, is not failure. Failure is when we want something, try to get it, don’t get it, and then quit. You can really only fail if you quit!
So, let’s re-wind that tape. You went on a diet, lost weight, then gained it back. Know what that means? It means that you lost weight on a diet and then you gained it back. That’s it! It means nothing about you as a person… and it certainly doesn’t mean that you are a failure!
I know that whenever I’m a little down in the dumps about my circumstances, it’s always because of something that I’m thinking. When I’m able to start thinking better, I always start feeling better. So I’ve included some quotes below that I hope will help you make that decision to stay with it, believe in yourself, and create the change that you want in your life. Above all, be kind to yourself… especially in your thoughts!
Below is a list of what I consider to be meaningful messages. You may have heard some of these before. They’re from a little book by Dr. Robert Anthony called Think Big. I hope you find them as inspiring as they have been to me.
- If you don’t start, it’s certain you won’t arrive.
- The biggest risk in life is not risking.
- Excuses are your lack of faith in your own power.
- There are no victims, only volunteers.
- Worry comes from the belief you are powerless.
- Hoping and Wishing are excuses for not Doing.
- The rewards in life go to those who are willing to give up the past.
- If you don’t change your beliefs, your life will look like this forever. Is that good news?
- The best way to predict your future is to create it.
- If you want to know what your true beliefs are, take a look at your actions.
- Wishing is a goal without energy behind it.
- It’s impossible to be depressed when you take action.
- Consciously or unconsciously, you always get what you expect.
And these are MY words… Expect better and you’ll get it!
